Description

Our client, a financial services company, is hiring a Staff Accountant for its Woodbridge, New Jersey office. This role supports the accounting team with month-end close, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance for a mid-sized organization with multiple business units.

The position works closely with senior accountants and the controller to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with internal controls. Candidates should be comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment and handling a high volume of transactional data.

This is a full-time, on-site position offering a clear path toward senior accounting roles within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries during month-end and year-end close
  • Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing
  • Support preparation of financial statements and internal reports
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation records
  • Assist with audit preparation and respond to auditor requests
  • Monitor and reconcile intercompany transactions
  • Identify and correct discrepancies in financial records

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 2 or more years of general accounting experience
  • Working knowledge of GAAP
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel including pivot tables and VLOOKUP
  • Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or SAP
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
  • CPA candidate or progress toward CPA is a plus
