Job Title: Staff Accountant

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Staff Accountant to support day‑to‑day accounting operations within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. This role will assist with general ledger activities, month‑end close, and cost accounting functions while ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and has hands‑on experience in a manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with month‑end and year‑end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Support cost accounting activities, including inventory valuation, standard costing, cost variance analysis, and bill of materials review
  • Reconcile inventory, WIP, and COGS accounts and assist with periodic physical inventory counts
  • Prepare and analyze financial data to support manufacturing operations and management decision‑making
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
  • Maintain accurate general ledger records in accordance with GAAP
  • Support fixed asset tracking, depreciation, and capital expenditure reporting
  • Assist with audits by preparing schedules and supporting documentation
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with operations, supply chain, and production teams
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiencies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)
  • 2-4 years of accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of cost accounting principles and inventory accounting
  • Strong understanding of GAAP
  • Experience with ERP systems and accounting software (manufacturing ERP a plus)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time‑management skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with standard costing and variance analysis
  • Exposure to inventory controls and production reporting
  • Prior ERP implementation or system migration experience
