Position Overview

We are actively seeking a skilled Staff Associateto join our growing team. The Staff Associate – Construction Materials Testing (CMT) is responsible for supporting field and laboratory testing of construction materials such as soil, concrete, asphalt, and aggregates. This entry-level role is focused on collecting samples, performing standardized tests, documenting results, and assisting with project quality control. The position is ideal for candidates interested in gaining hands-on experience in the construction or geotechnical engineering industry.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or coursework in construction, engineering, or geology is a plus.
  • 0–2 years of experience in construction, materials testing, or a related field.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift 40–50 lbs and work in physically demanding environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with field testing of construction materials to verify compliance with project specifications.
  • Collect samples of concrete, soil, asphalt, and aggregates for laboratory testing.
  • Perform basic laboratory tests under the supervision of senior staff.
  • Accurately document field activities, test results, and observations.
  • Operate and maintain testing equipment in accordance with company standards.
  • Follow safety protocols and report any safety concerns immediately.
  • Communicate professionally with contractors, site personnel, and team members.
  • Support senior technicians and engineers with data entry and report preparation.
  • Travel to project sites using company-provided transportation.
