Staff Attorney - First Party Property (Ormond Beach)

Security First Managers is looking for an experienced first party property Staff Attorney. Successful candidates will use knowledge and skills learned in traditional legal fields to settle legal disputes that arise from claims and are responsible for conducting research, analysis and writing about complex legal issues as part of the Security First litigation team. The selected candidate will manage a caseload of litigated files.

Essential Job Functions

• Represent the Company in moderate-risk litigation matters, including trials, hearings, mediations, and arbitrations.
• Review, evaluate, and manage assigned cases and lawsuits from inception through resolution.
• Provide legal counsel and strategic guidance on claims, litigation exposure, and case outcomes.
• Develop and execute litigation plans in collaboration with Litigation Examiners/Specialists.
• Conduct depositions, manage discovery, prepare motions, and handle all aspects of court proceedings.
• Identify, evaluate, and negotiate settlement opportunities within authorized authority levels.
• Analyze complex legal issues, assess risks and costs, and develop effective solutions and recommendations.
• Lead, mentor, and oversee staff performance, workload management, and operational results.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, implement best practices, and support reporting and trend analysis activities.
• Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, deliver exceptional customer service, support catastrophe response efforts as needed, and adhere to onsite/hybrid work requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school

One (1) to Five (5) years of first party property experience including trial experience

OR an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience

Senior Staff Attorney Minimum Requirements:

Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school

Five+ years of first party property experience

Demonstrated trial ability

First or Second chair trial experience

OR an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience

Certifications and Licenses:

May be required to possess a valid state of Florida drivers license

Florida State Bar license
