The Hartford currently has an in-house opportunity for a Staff Attorney or Senior Staff Attorney to litigate cases throughout the Austin, San Antonio, Houston areas. This position is an ideal fit for an experienced Attorney with significant trial and litigation experience in construction site accidents, premise liability, products liability, and commercial automobile accidents. The Senior Staff Attorney will strive to deliver the best possible result in pending litigation. In this position the attorney reports to the Staff Legal Managing Attorney. The ideal candidate is an experienced Attorney with considerable trial experience and demonstrates the ability to independently handle cases from inception through trial.

Note: This position may be filled as a Staff Attorney or Senior Staff Attorney commensurate with candidate's experience.
Qualified Staff Attorney candidates will possess the following requirements:
Juris Doctorate (JD) from accredited law school and license to practice in Texas state and local federal courts
Member in good standing of applicable Bar Association
Minimum of 3 years of civil tort matters experience
Strong legal research and writing skills
Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize duties and time are a must
Strong communication, computer and technological skills and the ability to quickly leverage new software as required
Demonstrated expertise and familiarity in the handling of claim cases and litigation
Qualified Senior Staff Attorney candidates will possess the following requirements:
Juris Doctorate (JD) from accredited law school and license to practice in Texas state and local federal courts
Member in good standing of applicable Bar Association
Minimum of 5+ years of civil tort matters experience
Documented first or second chair jury trial/appellate preferred
Strong legal research and writing skills
Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize duties and time are a must
Strong communication, computer and technological skills and the ability to quickly leverage new software as required
Demonstrated expertise and familiarity in the handling of claim cases and litigation

This position offers a remote work arrangement for candidates residing in the San Antonio, Austin, or Houston, Texas areas.
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$118,800 - $198,600
The posted salary range reflects our ability to hire at different position titles and levels depending on background and experience.
