POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Strategic Planning Manager is responsible for driving product sales and operations strategy for the company’s Energy Storage Solutions (ESS) portfolio. This role sits at the intersection of product management, strategic planning, and operations, ensuring that ESS products align with market demand, corporate strategy, and operational capabilities.

The position will work cross-functionally with engineering, sales, project development, supply chain, and sales operations to define product roadmaps, support go-to-market strategies, and ensure successful execution of strategic initiatives across the ESS business.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Product Sales and Marketing Strategy  
  • Work closely with engineering teams to guide product development and feature prioritization.
  • Monitor industry developments including policy incentives, grid regulations, and energy market trends affecting ESS deployment.
  • Coordinate with product development to ensure ESS product roadmap is aligned with corporate strategy and market needs.
  • Translate market and customer requirements into product specifications and development priorities.
Strategic Planning & Market Analysis  
  • Conduct market analysis, competitive benchmarking, and technology trend assessments in the energy storage sector.
  • Identify growth opportunities across small utility-scale, C&I, and emerging applications (e.g., microgrids, data centers, VPP).
  • Coordinate with product development to sharpen mid- to long-term strategic plans for the ESS product portfolio.
  • Support executive leadership with strategic insights, scenario modeling, and business cases.
Cross-Functional Execution 
  • Coordinate across sales, engineering, operations, and procurement to ensure successful product launches and deployments.
  • Support ESS solution sales planning and ops team with product positioning, pricing strategy, and technical guidance.
  • Ensure product strategies are aligned with manufacturing capabilities and supply chain constraints.
Operational Planning & Performance Monitoring
  • Track key business metrics including pipeline, product performance, cost targets, and market share.
  • Support operational planning including forecasting, capacity planning, and supply chain alignment.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives aimed at improving product competitiveness and operational efficiency.
Stakeholder & Partner Engagement
  • Collaborate with external partners, EPCs, integrators, and technology providers to support ESS product deployment.
  • Engage with industry groups, customers, and regulatory stakeholders to understand evolving market requirements. 
  • Represent the company in industry conferences and customer workshops when required. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Energy Systems, Business or a related field
  • 5-10 years of experience in energy storage, renewable energy, power system or related industries
  • Experience in product management, strategy or business planning  
  • Strong familiarity with battery energy storage systems (BESS), grid integration or energy markets
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical capabilities
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into business strategy
  • Excellent cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management
  • Experience with financial modeling, product economics, and market analysis
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
