Staff Chaplain, Phoebe Berks
Responsibilities for a Chaplain with Phoebe Berks:
The Staff Chaplain provides compassionate, inclusive spiritual care to residents, families, and, as requested, staff throughout the Phoebe Berks community, with a primary focus on the Health Care Center and Personal Care neighborhoods. Responsibilities include providing one-on-one spiritual care, planning and coordinating worship services and spiritual life programs, mentoring Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) students and interns, developing volunteers and community partnerships, and collaborating with the Independent Living Chaplain and interdisciplinary team to provide holistic, person-centered care.
Guided by Phoebe's Faith in Action values, the Staff Chaplain serves people of all faiths, spiritual traditions, and beliefs while recognizing the unique needs of each level of care. The chaplain uses creativity and evidence-informed practices to develop meaningful programs, supports the administrative functions of the Spiritual Care Department, and oversees the care and use of the Berks Chapel.
Requirements:
-The ability to deliver excellent customer service to all residents, families, and coworkers.
-Master of Divinity degree and four units of ACPE CPE preferred. A minimum of 2 units of ACPE CPE required. Four units must be completed within 2 years of hire.
-Endorsement or Ordination and good standing in spiritual community.
-Board certified or eligible for board certification with the Association of Professional Chaplains or cognate organization. Must be eligible within 2 years of hire.
-A minimum of three years’ experience in a ministry setting or related field.
