As a Staff Cloud Engineer you will provide development and support of Enterprise applications and initiatives within the HIS Product Development group. Applicant will be expected to learn and migrate existing PA Open Connect (PAOC) Interfaces to cloud while working within a project team environment for development. This includes requirements gathering and providing estimates for the work involved. Applicant will have the infrastructure as code mindset to build cloud resources that host software to meet business and customer needs. You will be participating in the creation of foundational containerized services in cloud and on-prem that will enable consistent and safe delivery of PAOC interfaces in cloud environment. You will interact periodically with architecture team across Parallon enterprise to validate and peer review interfaces ready for cloud.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage and take workflow direction from manager, consulting engineers, and product leadership.
Follow design best practices and assist troubleshooting design related issues.
Follow service management standards for cloud.
Follow and understand cloud reference architectures.
Assist with the development of automated tools / scripts for use across the project team.
Assist with the development / implementation of cloud products.
Execute and maintain standard integration modules and healthcare API’s for reuse by development teams and other business units.
Participate on a team designing, developing and testing containerized cloud solutions for PAOC for on-prem or Cloud platforms
Work closely with customers to develop robust and reusable configuration management components
Support workload migration activities to cloud.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems - Preferred
EXPERIENCE
7 or more years of experience in a Systems Engineering, Architecture, or Development -
Required
Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience could be considered
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS & TRAINING
Google Cloud Engineer - Required
Google Cloud Architect - Preferred
Terraform Associate - Preferred
OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES
Growth mindset and a willingness to learn new skills, technologies, and frameworks Required
Strong knowledge of frameworks and software/cloud design patterns used for implementing software solutions - Required
Experience with automation of CI/CD pipelines and GITHUB - Required
Functional knowledge of MLLP in GCP, PUB/SUB, Healthcare API, Kubernetes, Python and cURL - Required
Strong Knowledge in one or more cloud domains- GCP, Azure - Required
Understanding of agile methodology and software development lifecycles - Required
Experience in cloud native, deploying within cloud environments, serverless development and/or container-based solutions - Required
Knowledge of HL7, FHIR, and DICOM standards for health information exchange - Required
Familiarity with healthcare systems (EHRs, EMRs) and their integration - Preferred
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills - Required
Ability to work independently and on a team - Required
