    Description

    We are seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse (RN) Staff Development Coordinator / Infection Preventionist to oversee staff education, competency development, and the facility's infection prevention and control program. This role ensures compliance with CMS, CDC, OSHA, and state regulations while promoting high-quality resident care through ongoing staff training and infection prevention initiatives.
     
    Responsibilities:
    • Coordinate new employee orientation, onboarding, and annual competency evaluations.
    • Develop and conduct staff education programs, in-services, and continuing education.
    • Monitor staff compliance with mandatory training and licensure requirements.
    • Lead the facility's Infection Prevention and Control Program.
    • Conduct infection surveillance, track healthcare-associated infections, and identify trends.
    • Investigate outbreaks and implement corrective actions to reduce infection risks.
    • Ensure compliance with CDC, CMS, OSHA, and state infection prevention guidelines.
    • Educate staff on infection prevention practices, including hand hygiene, PPE usage, and isolation precautions.
    • Collaborate with the DON, Medical Director, and interdisciplinary team on quality improvement initiatives.
    • Maintain accurate documentation and prepare reports for QAPI meetings and regulatory surveys.
    • Participate in state survey preparation and ensure ongoing regulatory compliance.
     
    Qualifications:
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
    • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
    • Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, preferably in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or Long-Term Care (LTC) setting.
    • Previous experience in staff education, infection prevention, or nursing leadership preferred.
    • Current BLS certification (if required by the facility).
