Job Details

Position Summary:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Staff Development / Infection Control Nurse to support clinical education, staff competency, and infection prevention efforts. This dual-role position is responsible for developing and implementing training programs for clinical staff while also overseeing infection prevention and control practices to ensure a safe and compliant healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, coordinate, and deliver orientation and ongoing education programs for nursing and facility staff
  • Assess staff competency and provide remediation or additional training as needed
  • Maintain accurate training and competency records in compliance with regulations
  • Oversee infection prevention and control programs and ensure adherence to current guidelines and regulations
  • Monitor, track, and report infection trends and outbreaks
  • Implement infection control policies and procedures to reduce risk and improve resident safety
  • Conduct audits, surveillance, and environmental assessments
  • Collaborate with leadership and interdisciplinary teams to improve quality of care
  • Educate staff on infection prevention best practices, PPE use, and regulatory updates
  • Assist with survey preparedness and regulatory compliance related to infection control and staff education

Qualifications:

  • Active RN license in good standing (state-specific)
  • Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or acute care preferred
  • Prior experience in staff education, infection control, or quality assurance strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of infection prevention standards and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent communication, teaching, and organizational skills
  • Ability to lead training sessions and influence clinical practice
  • Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred but not required

Schedule & Compensation:

  • Full-time position: 40 hours per week + on call
