Position Title: Staff Development Nurse
Department: Health Services
Job Status: Full Time/Exempt-Salaried
Reporting Relationship: Health Services Manager
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Typical Schedule: Primarily M-F Days. Must be willing and able to work flexible hours/days/occasional evenings or weekends, Work is conducted in one of the 2 offices and spread out across programs in the caseload. Responsible for emergency call rotation/on call. Typically, one week every 7 weeks.
Position Summary
The function of the Staff Development Nurse is to promote optimum health and wellbeing of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in group home and apartment settings. The nurse works as a health advocate and supports the individual and interdisciplinary team. Supports staff in maintaining 245D state and federal compliance by providing training and guidance on medical procedures, proper use of medical devices, documentation requirements, and incident reporting, while serving as an ongoing resource for health-related concerns.
