    Description

T1 Energy is bringing solar manufacturing back to the U.S. by building a domestic solar supply chain. Our mission is to invigorate America with scalable, reliable, and low-cost energy. Our fully operational 5GW solar module facility in Wilmer, Texas, can manufacture more than 20,000 modules every 24 hours. By the time you finish reading this paragraph, we will have produced two solar panels that will power American homes and fuel domestic AI. We're focused on building advanced American manufacturing and we're passionate about engineering a better future filled with abundant energy.

    The Role

T1 Energy is seeking an Electrical Engineer to play a critical role in managing and executing the electrical utilities scope for our large-scale manufacturing facility. You will oversee the design, construction, and commissioning of electrical distribution systems, substations, and supporting infrastructure, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality. This role requires strong technical expertise, proven project management skills, and the ability to collaborate across internal teams, contractors, and utility providers (e.g., ONCOR).

    What You'll Do

    • Oversee electrical utilities systems and energization across all phases of design and construction, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

    • Track site execution, inspections, and contractor quality control in alignment with T1's Quality Assurance and commissioning procedures.

    • Collaborate with the design team to resolve design clashes and field-verify conditions against contract documents.

    • Monitor project costs, compare actuals to budget, and recommend cost-saving measures or value engineering alternatives.

    • Prepare, review, and manage Requests for Information (RIFs), submittals, contractor invoices, and project schedules.

    • Lead contractor buy-out efforts, including developing bid packages, working with procurement to issue RFPs, and managing scopes of work and work orders.

    • Serve as the primary interface with ONCOR and other external utilities to ensure successful interconnection and service agreements.

    • Maintain clear communication with contractor, design/engineering partners, and QA/Commissioning teams.

    • Ensure compliance with electrical codes, industry regulations (e.g., NEC, UL, IEC), and safety standards.

    • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues in production lines and equipment.

    • Create detailed documentation, including technical specifications, schematics and test reports.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.

    • 7+ years of experience in electrical engineering, facilities/utilities projects, or industrial construction.

    • Strong knowledge of electrical construction practices, codes, and safety protocols.

    • Experience managing projects in large manufacturing facilities, industrial plants, or similar sectors.

    • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems, multitask, and drive execution under aggressive schedules.

    • Strong understanding of photovoltaic systems, inverters, and power electronics.

    • Experience with electrical design software such as AutoCAD Electrical, PSpice, or ETAP.

    • Familiarity with PLCs, SCADA systems, and automatic technologies.

    • Knowledge of relevant electrical codes and standards (NEC, UL 1703, IEC 61215, etc.)

    • Experience with large scale EPC/EPCI projects preferred.

    • Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
