Dean, you will join forces with more than 5,100 professionals who engineer and deploy automated, secure, and resilient power and technology systems; and deliver the management platforms essential for long-term system sustainability.Description:In this role, as part of a multidisciplinary engineering and construction team, you will develop and integrate engineering deliverables for complex and challenging electrical construction projects in the mission critical, healthcare, industrial, transportation, pharmaceutical, federal, and fortune 500 sectors. Work products include detailed design drawings, specifications, studies, product selections, installation sequence plans, and commissioning testing scripts, as well as the life cycle execution of the systems associated. The role is located on-site at a project location or at M.C. Dean office locations, as required to support project delivery.This is a position for an experienced engineer, and general use and application of concepts, practices, and techniques is expected. You must be able to identify and develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity with limited to moderate oversight. You will be provided with tools required to succeed, including access to more experienced engineers, and training on industry standards, codes, and software that will facilitate and drive the requirements of your work. You will be expected to properly understand and utilized the tools provided to you.The M.C. Dean E&C Electrical Systems Engineering team provides comprehensive, fully integrated engineering services and management to the Engineering and Construction Division, in specific support of the Operations Team and the execution of construction. As a member of the team, you will participate in all aspects of system design and construction, including preconstruction and estimating, design and engineering, Virtual Design and Construction (VDC/BIM), and electrical construction. You will be heavily exposed to, and actively coordinate with, other building systems provided by MCDean, including telecommunications, electronic security, fire alarm, and electrical automation and control. You will also be exposed to all aspects of construction and expected to coordinate your work as required with other trades, such as architecture and mechanical/plumbing.Essential responsibilities and activitiesOriginate and execute detailed design with limited supervision by Senior Engineers, including the design or integration of the following:Normal power medium and low voltage distribution systems.Emergency power generation and distribution systems, including UPS.Coordinate device locations with other trades, including mechanical, plumbing, or other (Architectural, Lab, Medical, Kitchen, etc), including interpreting equipment requirements.Interior and Exterior Lighting Design including lighting controls & layouts. Ability to perform lightingcalculations.Project specifications for all equipment and installation methods.Perform analysis of electrical distribution systems, including short circuit, overcurrent device coordination, arc flash, cable pull, ductbank heating, etc.Documentation of design work via AutoCAD and REVIT in 2D and 3D platforms.Field verify existing conditions as necessary.Provide support of construction activities, including but not limited to, responses to Requests for Information, review of project equipment submittals, and technical support of operations management.Assist in mentoring entry level engineers.Assign and manage tasks for entry level engineers.Assist Project Lead Engineers in managing project support and deliverables.Manage project support and deliverables as the Project Lead Engineer on smaller or less technically complex projects.Perform quality control check of work product you provide, and work product provided by others.Travel to work locations as required.Actively participate in design and owner/architect/contractor meetings as necessaryDetermine or assist in determining project engineering scopes of work, deadlines, and budget, and complete support within agreed deadlines and budget.Keep senior staff informed of important and relevant service/design decisions and that the objectives of the company and the client are achieved.Coordinate work with other members of the project team.Inform all relevant MCDean staff of client matters.Commit to self-learning and professional development.Manage your time effectively and support multiple projects concurrently.Required Position QualificationsBachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline from an accredited engineering program2 to 4 years of relevant experience in design or commissioning of building power systemsFamiliarity with essential responsibilities and activitiesProficient in MS Office suite of productsPreferred Positions QualificationsEIT Certification, ability to sit for Professional Engineers License exam within 2 years of hireExperience in the mission critical, healthcare, industrial, transportation, pharmaceutical, federal, and fortune 500 sectorsProficiency with AutoCAD softwareExpert in Revit softwareProficiency with engineering analysis software, such as AGI32, ElumTools, SKM, or ETAPEligible to gain a DOD security clearanceMaster's degree in engineering or managementDesign Build Institute of America Certification (DBIA)Certified Energy Manager Certification (CEM)Certified in Power Quality Certification (CPQ)Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design Certification (LEED)Lighting Certified Certification (LC)Certified Lighting & Efficiency Professional Certification (CLEP)Certified Associate in Project Management Certification (CAPM)National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies Certification (NICET)Abilities:Exposure to computer screen for a long period of time.Sitting for extended periods of time.Reach by extending hands or arms in any direction.Have finger dexterity to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms, for example, using a keyboard.Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.Communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.Read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.Identify and understand the speech of another person.#J-18808-Ljbffr
