Description

Staff Engineer (FBG Enterprises Opco LLC, New York, NY)

Design and build customer-facing user experiences that aggregate data from multiple sources and deliver personalized, fast, and responsive interactions for users; Optimize mobile application performance by identifying and debugging application-level bottlenecks, improving mobile responsiveness, and enhancing backend services that support the mobile experience; Collaborate with system architects and infrastructure teams to design scalable solutions capable of supporting increasing data volumes, user interactions, and system load; Develop dashboards, data visualizations, and reporting tools used by internal customers and engineering teams to monitor application systems, analyze performance, and surface data-driven insights; Contribute to mobile application development by reviewing and analyzing codebases, participating in code walkthroughs, and evaluating competitor applications to identify enhancements and industry best practices; Partner closely with product management to support roadmap planning, assess technical feasibility for new features, and ensure engineering decisions align with product, business, and user needs; Facilitate cross-functional collaboration through consistent communication with engineering leadership and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on feature development, progress, and delivery expectations; Provide technical mentorship to junior developers, lead code reviews, and help define and enforce engineering standards, principles, and best practices across the team; Research, evaluate, and prototype emerging technologies, sharing findings with the team and applying insights to improve future product development and inform technical decision-making. Partial telecommuting permitted; on-site at 61 9th Avenue, 4th Floor, New York, NY 10011 when not telecommuting. Salary: $228,900 - $248,900 per year.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, plus 5 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or any occupation, job title, or position conducting code walkthroughs, reviews and collaborating with cross domain stakeholders.

In lieu of a Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of experience, the employer will accept a Master’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, plus 3 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or any occupation, job title, or position conducting code walkthroughs, reviews and collaborating with cross domain stakeholders.

Must also have experience in the following: 3 years of professional experience developing and optimizing systems and user experiences, including resolving performance bottlenecks and implementing strategies to deliver fast and responsive customer-facing interactions; 3 years of professional experience collaborating with product managers, architects, and infrastructure teams to ensure technology decisions align with user needs, scalability objectives, and product requirements; 3 years of professional experience executing personalized customer experiences using data aggregation, third-party integrations, and insight-driven features; 3 years of professional experience creating dashboards and reporting tools and collaborating with data analysts to design data visualizations and reporting mechanisms for internal and engineering use; 3 years of professional experience contributing to mobile application development, including reviewing mobile codebases, participating in walkthroughs, and evaluating competitive mobile applications; 3 years of professional experience providing guidance on engineering principles, best practices, and leading code reviews with a focus on quality and education; 3 years of professional experience working with internal stakeholders to communicate progress, address technical challenges, and provide technical recommendations that support feature delivery; 3 years of professional experience researching and experimenting with emerging technologies, including prototyping and sharing findings through internal documentation or knowledge-sharing sessions.
