    Job DescriptionKey ResponsibilitiesIdentify focus areas for critical innovation projectsConduct clinical observations and stakeholder interviews to understand the problem space. Identify, draft and refine needs statements accordingly.Scope, quantify and prioritize needs to identify high-value opportunities across diverse patient populations (leveraging structured rubrics to evaluate needs, quantitative surveys, and/or health economic value calculation).Collaborate with cross-functional and cross-regional teams to incorporate global perspectives and develop strong knowledge of our global customer base.Translate Insights To Innovation OpportunitiesAnalyze research data and facilitate cross-functional interpretations to drive new opportunities for innovation.Set up the context from triangulated insights for early-stage concept development and filtering based on feasibility, differentiation, and market fitContribute to Sensing hub (clinical, commercial, user, etc.) for continuous feedback leading to new design considerations or new innovation opportunities.Conduct field visits and attend conferences to establish a deep understanding of customers and bring insights back to the UCC business.Change management and communicationProvide regular updates to key stakeholders to bring awareness and build engagement in innovation practices and progress.Host innovation training events to empower UCC's innovation engine.Critical TraitsDemonstrated ability to develop deep, rigorous analytical analysis that drives growth opportunity identification, strategy development, or technology/product decision-makingDemonstrated ability to independently identify, prioritize, and successfully advocate for opportunities to drive growth.Demonstrated ability to translate insights and ideas into actionable innovation opportunitiesExcellent communication and collaboration skills across technical, clinical stakeholders and Leadership.Demonstrated ability to see the big picture, anticipate future trends, and develop long-term plans that align with organizational goals.Prioritizes the needs, experiences, and outcomes of patients in every decision and action, ensuring care and services are tailored to enhance patient well‑being.Takes initiative and embraces a test-and-learn approach, driving progress through rapid iteration, innovation, and continuous improvement.Approaches challenges and people with a genuine desire to understand, asking thoughtful questions and actively listening. Demonstrates compassion and openness, fostering trust and inclusive collaboration.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in science or engineering requiredTrained and experienced with implementing formal innovation methods and processes, i.e. Biodesign, Design Thinking, Jobs to be Done, and Design for Six Sigma (DFSS).Minimum of 3 years experience in healthcare innovation, preferably in urology, critical care, or infection prevention.Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in Science or Engineering; commercial or clinical experience preferredExperience with ethnographic and observational processes to uncover unspoken unmet needsAt BD, we prioritize on-site collaboration because we believe it fosters creativity, innovation, and effective problem-solving, which are essential in the fast‑paced healthcare industry.
