Compensation

The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $124,960 - $165,572. Individual compensation within this range is determined by factors such as performance, experience, skills, education, and training. This role may also qualify for participation in the company’s annual incentive plan, subject to eligibility requirements.

Join Our Team as a Staff Engineer – Torque Tool Strategy!

Are you passionate about engineering and advanced manufacturing? We are seeking a motivated professional to join our Advanced Manufacturing group as a Staff Engineer – Torque Tool Strategy. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting manufacturing operations and driving process improvements across multiple facilities.

This position is responsible for leading the strategy, deployment, implementation, and long-term support of torque tool systems throughout various manufacturing sites. The ideal candidate will have strong experience integrating torque-monitored solutions into existing manufacturing processes and manufacturing execution systems to improve safety, product quality, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute scalable torque tool strategies, including specification, procurement, installation, programming, validation, and maintainability planning.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Product Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and IT/IoT teams to ensure proper tool selection, integration, calibration, usage, and long-term sustainability.
  • Partner with equipment suppliers to evaluate and implement industry-leading torque tools and control systems suitable for enterprise-wide deployment.
  • Create and maintain standardized documentation, including standard work procedures, preventive maintenance plans, and programming standards.
  • Lead integration efforts between torque systems, ERP platforms, and MES systems for data collection, process monitoring, and operational control.

  • Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
  • Participate in in-person and virtual meetings as needed.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education & Qualifications

Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.

Preferred
  • Master’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Required:
  • 8+ years of experience developing and implementing manufacturing processes within high-volume, high-mix, or semi-automated production environments.
  • Strong expertise in manufacturing engineering methodologies and tools, including value stream mapping, lean six sigma, DFMA, and manufacturing systems design.
  • Demonstrated success leading projects with complex scope, schedule, and budget requirements from concept through validation and sustainment.
  • Strong analytical and business skills with the ability to assess complex systems, identify improvement opportunities, support informed decision-making, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent written, verbal, listening, and presentation communication skills with the ability to work effectively across all organizational levels, from executives to operational staff.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust, manage conflict, encourage collaboration, and work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Ability to travel as required.

Physical Requirements
  • Sitting – Regularly required to remain seated and perform desk-related tasks for extended periods.
  • Walking – Occasionally required to walk moderate distances throughout manufacturing and office facilities.
  • Lifting – Occasionally required to lift materials weighing between 5 and 20 pounds and operate hand carts when needed.
  • Observation / Eyesight – Occasionally required to observe detailed work at close range, including depth perception and color differentiation.
  • Communication – Frequently required to communicate verbally and listen during meetings, phone calls, and conferences.
  • Travel – Occasional travel, including overnight travel and extended work hours when necessary.
