On the Tools and Frameworks AI team, youll work on projects that push the boundaries of whats possible with AI. Were solving problems at the frontier of the field, building tools and capabilities, and figuring out what the next generation of software development looks like. We take these innovations from concept to production, ensuring our work delivers real impact at scale. Youll see your contributions move from early explorations to production systems that users depend on daily. Were looking for a Staff ML Engineer who can drive AI-powered software development from initial design through production deployment. Youll architect and build machine learning systems that push the boundaries of whats possible in software development, writing production-quality code that scales to meet real-world demands. This role requires both deep technical expertise and strong collaboration skills-youll work closely with product managers, software engineers, and researchers across the organization to translate ambitious ideas into robust, shipping solutions. Youll be responsible for making critical design decisions, mentoring other engineers, and ensuring our exploratory work successfully transitions into production systems that deliver measurable impact.Lead, design and implement AI-first developer productivity projects from prototype to production establishing best software engineering practices. Own the end-to-end user experience with a strong focus on product quality. Work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders at Apple, drive requirements and deliver the end solution. Be a force-multiplier, by enabling team-members to be more productive. Mentor junior engineers.At least 8 years of hands-on experience in software engineering, with focus on machine learning Demonstrated expert knowledge of machine learning modeling and applied machine learning research Strong programming skills in: Python, Java, C++ or Swift Track record of delivering high quality products and solving complex problems in innovative ways Thrive in a collaborative environment and communicate clearly and confidently with partner teams Masters OR PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning Engineering or equivalent professional experienceHands-on experience working on developer productivity AI tools Full-stack software developer experience with experience building ML infra at scale Experience leading AI/ML projects
