As an industry leader in space avionics, actuation and mechanisms, propulsion, power, structures, and shock and vibration control, Moog has been committed to the space industry for more than 60 years and Moog products have been to every planet.The Actuation and Avionics Business Unit's staff manager will lead a multi‑functional team of electrical, EEE component, FPGA, and packaging design engineers serving NASA, military and commercial space applications. The team consists of approximately 20 engineers, including 10 direct reports and 2 section managers.Responsibilities Lead and mentor a dynamic team of ~20 engineers, fostering growth and collaboration.Provide personal development for direct reports by conducting performance reviews, training, mentoring, and monitoring career development.Assign programs and projects to direct reports in a timely manner and monitor these tasks so they are completed within technical, cost, and schedule constraints.Champion continuous improvement in the design and development processes.Coordinate with design leadership to align project goals and share best practices across teams.Maintain key performance indicators and metrics.Provide expert technical guidance and support to your team.Select and equip your team with the best tools and technology to excel.Foster design reviews, validating adherence to internal standards.Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.7 years of technical experience designing and developing circuit cards, electronic enclosures, or working with FPGAs.10+ years of relevant technical experience preferred.Must have the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance; a current clearance is preferred.Proven track record managing and leading engineering teams to success.Self‑motivated, with strong critical thinking and analytical skills.Proficient communication skills, both in writing technical documentation and in public speaking presentations.Ability to work onsite in Elma, NY (remote candidates will not be considered).Benefits Financial Rewards: Great compensation package, bonus opportunities, matching 401(k), and ability to participate in Employee Stock Purchase Plan (select locations).Flexible spending and health savings accounts.Work/Life Balance: Flexible paid time off, holidays, and parental leave program, relocation assistance.Health & Welfare: Comprehensive insurance coverage including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, Employee Assistance Plan (EAP) and other supplemental benefit coverages.Professional Skills Development: Tuition assistance, mentorship and coaching opportunities, leadership development and other personal growth programs.Culture: Warm, respectful, family‑like environment driven by our 12 core values; multiple Employee Resource Groups led by employees.Salary Range: Buffalo, NY $140,000.00–$165,000.00 Annually.
