Our client, a leader in the Oil & Gas sector, is seeking a Staff Mechanical Engineer to join their dynamic team in Kansas City. This is a permanent role within the pipeline and facilities division, focusing on world‑class designs for natural gas facilities, including compressor stations, meter and regulator stations, and renewable natural gas facilities. The successful candidate will work closely with the project team throughout the design and construction process, ensuring that all mechanical plans are adapted to meet budget constraints, design factors, and client needs.Key Responsibilities:Execution of mechanical engineering design and analysis for natural gas facilities and pipeline‑related projectsMechanical design of stations and facilities, including piping systems and material specificationsPreparation of calculations, studies, and technical reports including pipe stress, pressure relief, and equipment sizingDevelopment of P&IDs, piping plans, isometrics, equipment layouts, and associated bill of materialsSelection and specification of mechanical equipment, including compressors, regulators, valves, meters, and relief devicesCoordination with other disciplines such as Pipeline, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls, and Environmental teamsReview of vendor submittals and technical bid evaluationsSupport for construction activities, including responses to RFIs, field visits, and as‑built documentationParticipation in client meetings and coordination with owners, contractors, and vendorsEnsuring compliance with applicable codes and standards including ASME, API, and CFR requirementsJob Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program, or equivalent qualificationsExperience in mechanical engineering, preferably in a consulting environmentWorking knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, API 520/521, and 49 CFR Part 192Experience with mechanical design software and engineering toolsStrong knowledge of standard engineering techniques and proceduresExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and engineering software such as AutoCAD, BIM (Revit), 3D Rendering Programs, hydraulic analysis, and HVAC analysis programsAttention to detail, team collaboration, and problem‑solving abilitiesEngineering in Training (EIT) Certification preferredBenefits:Competitive salaryProfessional development and training opportunitiesSupportive and collaborative work environmentOpportunity to work on a variety of interesting and challenging projectsComprehensive employee benefits packageIf you are a dedicated and detail‑oriented Mechanical Engineer looking to advance your career in the Oil & Gas industry, our client would love to hear from you.
