Staff Neurologist - Outpatient

VA Texas Valley Coastal Bend Health Care System
Harlingen, TX

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Practice: 100% Outpatient | No Call | No Weekends

Position Highlights

  • Perform outpatient neurological evaluations and follow-up care for new and established patients
  • Diagnose and manage common neurological conditions including migraines, epilepsy, neuropathy, and neurovascular disorders
  • Order and interpret EEG, EMG/NCS, labs, and imaging
  • Perform neurologic procedures as credentialed (e.g., Botox, lumbar puncture, EMG/NCS, EEG interpretation)
  • Provide patient education and shared decision-making
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary VA clinical teams
  • Document care in VA electronic health record systems (training provided)

Practice Environment

  • Dedicated outpatient clinic at the Harlingen VA Health Care Center
  • Average patient volume of approximately 5-10 patients per day
  • Excellent nursing and administrative support

Qualifications 
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited U.S. medical school
  • Completion of an ACGME accredited Neurology residency (required)
  • Active, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory
  • Eligibility for federal DEA registration
  • Strong communication skills and commitment to patient-centered care
