Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities, prevents illness and injury, and alleviates suffering through diagnosis, treatment, and advocacy. The RN is accountable for compliance with standards of practice and professional development according to the New York State Nurse Practice Act, United Health Services policies, ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the Bill of Patient Rights. The RN promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care.
Job Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients.
- Educate patients and families in health promotion and disease management.
- Administer medications safely according to United Health Services policy.
- Ensure productivity and effective resource utilization.
- Comply with nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in the Nursing Shared Governance Model and improvement initiatives.
- Engage in professional development and complete mandatory education.
- Integrate nursing research and current evidence into practice.
- Provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.
- Follow all United Health Services Values.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience
- Nursing (RN) experience: 6 months - 3 years.
- Management experience: 0 - 3 years.
- 5+ years of direct experience.
- Collaboration, communication, judgment, critical thinking, organizational understanding, planning, problem-solving, quality, reliability, safety, and risk management.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting.
