Position Summary:
An Endoscopy Registered Nurse (Endoscopy RN) is a specialized role in the nursing field. This type of RN is responsible for providing care during a variety of endoscopy procedures. Their duties range from preparing patients for a procedure to post-operative care and follow-up. The Endoscopy RN is also responsible for providing education and support to surgeons and other healthcare personnel during the endoscopy procedure. Furthermore, they are responsible for keeping the endoscopy suite sterile before and after the procedure. Endoscopy RNs are required to have excellent communication and patient care skills, as well as be certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life.
.Assist in preparing the endoscopy suite and equipment for procedures
Provide patient education and obtain informed consent prior to procedures
Monitor patients' vital signs and sedation levels during procedures
Assist physicians with endoscopic procedures
Document patient care and procedure details accurately in medical records
Provide post-procedure care and patient discharge instructions
Identify and respond to patients' needs and concerns during their stay
Maintain and troubleshoot endoscopic equipment to ensure proper functioning
Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop individualized patient care plans
Participate in continuing education and training to stay current with best practic
We are open Monday - Friday. This position is 4 - 10 hours. Variable day off and start times. On Call requirement approximately 2 nights in a 6 week scheduled period and approximately every 7th weekend. Rotating holiday call. Must be flexible.

Position Qualification:
Experience in an endoscopy or gastroenterology setting
Proficiency with endoscopic equipment and technology
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred
Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a critical care or surgical setting
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends
Must be able to return to the hospital in a 30 minute time frame when on call.
Must be able to stand for long time periods, move stretchers and beds.
