Summary

CARC, Inc. is seeking a compassionate and reliable Staff Nurse to support individuals with developmental disabilities through high-quality, person-centered nursing care. This role combines clinical skill, teamwork, and meaningful daily impact. The Staff Nurse provides medication management, health assessments, monitoring, documentation, and direct support across residential and community settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dispense and document medications per CARC and NM Pharmacy regulations.
  • Assess health concerns, monitor vital signs/weights, and complete quarterly physical assessments.
  • Track medication effectiveness, side effects, and signs of toxicity.
  • Conduct AIMS testing and monitor for extrapyramidal symptoms.
  • Transport individuals to medical appointments and complete follow-through documentation.
  • Participate in Interdisciplinary Team meetings and contribute to individualized health plans.
  • Respond to first aid needs for clients and staff.
  • Assist with nursing summaries, on-site reports, and other required assessments.
  • Provide in-home RN services as assigned.
  • Maintain compliance with CARC policies, regulatory agencies, and the Pharmacy Manual.
  • Maintain professional relationships with clients, families, coworkers, and community partners.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current New Mexico RN license preferred, will consider LPN with experience.
  • One year of nursing experience
  • Experience with developmental disabilities preferred
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and evacuate clients in emergencies
  • Valid NM driver’s license (3 years driving experience)
  • TB clearance as part of hiring process
  • New Mexico Department of Health Caregiver Screening Clearance required.
  • Strong written communication and teamwork skills
  • Flexibility to work varied hours and participate in on-call rotation
