UPMC McKeesport is seeking a Full-Time Staff Nurse to support our 3M Medical/Surgical Unit through our Weekend Program. This is a unique opportunity to enjoy full-time benefits while working weekend hours only.

Position Highlights

  • Schedule: 24 hours per week

  • Between 7:00 PM Friday and 7:00 AM Monday

  • Required to work 48 out of 52 weekends annually

  • Full-Time Benefits while working weekends only

Role Overview

The Professional Staff Nurse (RN is a key member of the care delivery team, responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. This role requires independent clinical judgment, strong communication and collaboration skills, and a commitment to compassionate, relationship-based care. You will partner with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, patients, and families to achieve optimal outcomes across the continuum of care.

  • BSN preferred.

  • Ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment, handle multiple/changing priorities and specialized equipment.
  • Good clinical judgment with critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving abilities required as related to various aspects of patient care.
  • Critical thinking skills necessary to exercise and to lead others in the application of the nursing process. Mobility and visual manual dexterity.
  • Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and positioning of patients.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • NIH Certification will be required within 6 months of hire for the following units: ED, CVU, ICU and 5M.
  • CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
  • ACLS required within 6 months
  • NIH required within 6 months
