What You Will DoEngineering Services Division (ES-DO) is seeking a Staff Operations Manager (SOM) to serve as a key member of the Division Office leadership team, providing strategic administrative and business management support to advance the Engineering Services Division's mission and drive organizational excellence. This position operates in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and serves as a trusted advisor to division leadership. Reporting directly to the Division Leader, the SOM prioritizes organizational priorities and mission objectives to execution.
The Staff Operations Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, directing, and overseeing division-level business and engineering activities. This role partners closely with leadership to develop strategic objectives, translate them into actionable plans, and ensure successful execution across the organization. Responsibilities include leading and managing administrative and professional staff, overseeing division business, and driving continuous improvement through the development and implementation of effective systems, processes, policies, and procedures. The Staff Operations Manager ensures organizational consistency, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and alignment with Laboratory goals while providing leadership with critical analysis and recommendations to support informed decision-making.

Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.
Position Commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Regular Position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
Incentive Compensation Program: Position is eligible to participate in the Triad Incentive Compensation Program. You must be in an eligible position for a minimum of 3 months, before July 1st and remain in an eligible position as of the end of the fiscal year, September 30th. The annual distribution is prorated based on the number of months in the eligible position.
