Job Details

The Role
Reporting to the Controller, this hybrid accounting and payroll seat sits on a small, collaborative finance team. You will own full-cycle payroll while building on your general ledger foundation, taking on increasing accounting responsibility over time as the Controller shifts into a review-level role. This is a strong opportunity for an accountant who wants ownership, mentorship, and a clear runway.

What You'll Do
  • Run the full weekly payroll process end to end, including certified payroll, timekeeping review, and payroll tax support
  • Post payroll journal entries and other journal entries
  • Complete bank and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Own fixed assets, ensuring items are tracked and depreciated appropriately
  • Assist with month-end close under the Controller's oversight
  • Support job-cost accounting as needed

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
  • 1-3 years of hands-on general ledger experience (debits/credits, month-end close)
  • Solid understanding of how transactions flow through the financials
  • Willingness to own payroll (prior payroll or certified payroll experience is a plus, but we will train the right accountant)
  • Construction or job-cost experience is ideal but not required
  • Comfortable wearing multiple hats in a small, growing environment
