Job Title: Staff Pharmacist

The Opportunity:
Our operations run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and we are hiring for roles across multiple shifts. Schedules are assigned based on business needs and role alignment and may include daytime, evening, overnight, weekend, or holiday coverage. As a Remote Staff Pharmacist, you will ensure safe, timely, and accurate medication dispensing within our fulfillment pharmacy. You’ll oversee technicians, verify prescriptions, support clinical workflows, and help maintain exceptional patient safety and quality standards. You will also support front-end processing, conduct counseling as required, and play a key role in ensuring order accuracy and operational excellence throughout the dispensing lifecycle.
What You'll Do:
Front-End Pharmacy Processing
- Assist with frontâend order verification, prescription clarification, new patient onboarding, and inbound/outbound phone communications.
- Manage and support inbound and outbound calls, including provider outreach, patient followâups, prescription clarifications, and coordination related to order processing.
- Collaborate with pharmacists to ensure continuous coverage, timely call handling, and adherence to established turnaround time standards.
- Provide overflow support for phoneâbased tasks as workflows transition to the remote pharmacy team, ensuring continuity of care and service quality.
Supervision & Team Leadership
- Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians, ensuring compliance with scope-of-practice regulations and internal procedures.
- Conduct competency checks, support training, and provide coaching to reinforce accuracy and accountability.
- Promote a positive and safety-focused work environment aligned with Neovance’s culture of quality.
Compliance & Quality
- Adhere to FDA, DEA, and state Board of Pharmacy standards.
- Actively participate in internal quality audits, medication error reviews, and root cause analyses.
- Report and document quality events, dispensing errors, or near misses according to policy.
- Support the implementation of the Quality Management Program (QMP) and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Interact with clients and provide SME support
- Maintain confidentiality and patient privacy compliance
On-Call Rotation & Facility Monitoring (As Needed)
- Participate in a weekly on-call rotation to respond to temperature sensor alerts, after-hour patient inquiries, and emergency pharmacist coverage needs.
- Document and resolve after-hour events in accordance with the pharmacy’s Quality Management Program (QMP).
What You'll Bring:
Qualifications (Minimum Required):
- B.S. Pharm degree. Pharm.D. degree is preferred.
- Valid Pharmacy license in the state you reside
- Has worked for Neovance as a contingent worker for at least 6 months
- Proficiency using computer systems, multitasking, and managing time-sensitive order volume
- 2+ years of pharmacist experience in a retail or specialty pharmacy, with demonstrated ability to:
- Analyze information and make sound clinical decisions
- Administer medications appropriately
- Interpret physician orders to ensure safe, accurate dispensing
- Communicate clearly with prescribers, patients, and internal teams
- Apply FDA regulations, pharmacology knowledge, and legal/compliance standards
- Maintain accuracy, quality, and attention to detail
- Manage complex phone interactions, including extended durations if needed
