Staff Pharmacist

To provide safe, accurate, and efficient pharmacy dispensing, consultation, and clinical services to patients. The Staff Pharmacist supports the Pharmacy Manager in ensuring high standards of patient care, compliance, and service delivery are consistently maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service and a professional pharmacy atmosphere to foster patient and employee loyalty.

  • Accurately dispense prescriptions according to federal, state, and company regulations.

  • Conduct patient consultations to ensure safe and effective medication use.

Support delivery of clinical services including immunizations, point-of-care testing, MTM, disease state management, and patient education.

  • Utilize the Pharmacists’ Patient Care Process to assess, plan, and optimize medication therapy for each patient.

  • Identify and resolve medication therapy problems, ensuring evidence-based care and adherence to clinical guidelines.

  • Counsel patients on disease prevention, chronic disease management, and adherence strategies.

  • Oversee pharmacy technicians and interns, providing guidance and ensuring compliance with laws and policies.

  • Support inventory management by following company policies for purchasing, storage, and loss prevention.

  • Ensure prescriptions are adjudicated properly, third-party rejections are resolved, and audit risks are minimized.

  • Participate in community outreach including immunization clinics, health fairs, and employer partnerships.

  • Assist in developing and retaining long-term care (LTC) business by responding promptly to the needs of nursing homes, group homes, and assisted living communities.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy environment.

  • Support implementation of company programs such as Ready Refill and Medication Synchronization.

  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and professional development.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy with a PharmD or B.S. in Pharmacy.

  • Active pharmacist license in good standing with state board(s).

  • Current immunization certification.

  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy practice principles, clinical effects of drugs, and applicable laws/regulations.

  • Excellent communication skills with ability to collaborate with patients, caregivers, prescribers, and interdisciplinary care teams.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Proficiency in operating pharmacy systems, e-prescribing, and related technology.

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Reliability in reporting to work as scheduled, including occasional travel for meetings or coverage at other locations.
