Responsibilities

• Dispense medications accurately while adhering to hospital protocols and safety standards, including aseptic techniques for IV infusions and sterile preparations.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and adjust medication therapy plans tailored to individual patient needs, including acute pain management and critical care cases.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, review medical histories, and interpret medical terminology to ensure appropriate medication administration.
• Manage medication inventories efficiently, ensuring proper storage, expiration tracking, and compliance with managed care policies.
• Provide expert guidance on physiology, anatomy, and pharmacology to support multidisciplinary teams in complex cases such as Level I Trauma Center and Level II trauma center scenarios.
• Educate patients and staff on medication usage, potential side effects, and safety precautions to enhance patient service and care quality.
• Maintain meticulous documentation of medication administration, patient interactions, and incident reports in accordance with hospital standards.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• A valid pharmacy license with current registration; postgraduate residency or post residency experience preferred.
• Demonstrated clinical pharmacy experience within hospital medicine settings, ICU experience highly desirable.
• Experience working in Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers with exposure to PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) environments is a strong plus.
• Knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations including IV infusion preparation, aseptic techniques, and medication management systems.
• 1 year of recent experience in an in-patient Hospital/Rehab/OR LTAC setting.
