Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Department of Ophthalmology and Doheny Eye Center at UCLA are seeking a junior to mid-level Ophthalmologist to support the Doheny Eye Center in Fountain Valley, at 40% time.

Patient Care services include:

  • Clinical Evaluations: Conduct comprehensive examinations for patients with ophthalmic disease focusing on periorbital diseases, ptosis, thyroid eye disease, and facial trauma.
  • Reconstructive Surgery: Perform complex surgeries such as entropion/ectropion corrections, orbital decompressions, socket reconstruction, and tear duct (dacryocystorhinostomy) procedures.
  • Cosmetic Procedures: Execute functional and cosmetic blepharoplasty, brow lifts, and aesthetic facial injections (e.g., Botox, dermal fillers).
  • Patient Care: Develop personalized treatment plans, manage pre-operative and post-operative care, and order diagnostic tests like CT or MRI scans.

The full salary range for this position is $142,100-$348,100 annual base salary.

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • MD or DO
  • Board-eligible or board-certified in Ophthalmology
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited ophthalmology residency
  • Active/Eligible California medical license
  • Advanced microsurgical skills, an in-depth understanding of the periorbital anatomy, and high aesthetic precision
