Staff Project Controls Specialist
Location: Conshohocken, PA
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire
We are seeking a Staff Project Controls Specialist for a contract-to-hire opportunity with our client in Conshohocken, PA. This position will lead project controls activities in support of engineering, procurement, and construction projects, working closely with project management teams to ensure projects are executed within established budgets and schedules.
Responsibilities:
Lead project controls processes for multiple projects, including cost control, scheduling, forecasting, and progress measurement.
Ensure proper project setup within Enterprise Planning & Controls systems.
Develop and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
Develop, implement, and maintain project schedules, cost reports, cash flow reports, forecasts, and progress curves.
Support engineering, procurement, construction, logistics, scheduling, and cost-control activities.
Analyze project data, review logs, and generate project controls reports.
Develop various levels of project schedules and apply appropriate logic ties.
Monitor schedule resource loading, progress, critical path, and overall schedule performance.
Perform schedule what-if scenarios and assist with project forensic analysis.
Support Interactive Project Planning Meetings (IPPM).
Review and analyze scheduling reports and supporting documentation for accuracy.
Consult with project teams regarding schedule status, progress, risks, and potential impacts.
Develop and maintain Earned Value Management (EVM) systems.
Input and validate project progress measurements.
Develop and maintain project cash flow reports and forecasts.
Review project costs and contingency with Project Management and Accounting teams.
Review upstream prime contract changes and downstream purchase order and subcontract change orders.
Review and approve purchase orders and subcontracts for proper project coding.
Document changes to project cost reports and forecasts.
Support internal and external project audits.
Perform material takeoffs as required.
Conduct quality checks and inspections of project controls deliverables.
Perform field audits to validate project reporting and project controls processes.
Serve as a resource for technical project controls questions from project teams.
Perform additional project controls responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of direct project controls experience.
Applicable project controls experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience with project scheduling, cost control, forecasting, progress measurement, and critical path scheduling.
Experience with Oracle Primavera P6 preferred.
Understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM) principles and practices.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with project management, engineering, construction, procurement, and accounting teams.
OSHA 10-hour safety certification or ability to obtain.
