Project Controls Specialist Scheduling (Contract-to-Hire)

Locations: Wallingford, CT | Conshohocken, PA | Newton, MA

Aspen Technical Staffing is seeking a Staff Project Controls Specialist Scheduling for a contract-to-hire opportunity with our client. This role will support multiple projects by leading project controls processes in coordination with the project management team to ensure successful execution of project deliverables within budget and schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project controls processes with the project management team to support successful project delivery
  • Ensure proper project setup in Enterprise Planning & Controls software
  • Analyze project data, review logs, and generate reports using Enterprise Planning & Controls or similar tools
  • Develop and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS)
  • Create and maintain scheduling reports, cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and project forecasts across multiple projects
  • Support and follow project execution plans throughout project lifecycle
  • Manage engineering, procurement, and construction planning, scheduling, logistics, and cost control activities
  • Serve as a point of contact for technical scheduling and project controls questions from the project team
  • Approve purchase orders and/or subcontracts ensuring proper cost coding
  • Input and document changes to cost reports and forecasts
  • Interface with Project Management and Accounting teams to review project costs, contingency tracking, and support external audits
  • Review upstream (prime contract) and downstream (purchase order/subcontract) change orders
  • Develop and present cash flow reports
  • Build and maintain integrated project schedules at various levels
  • Apply and review logic ties within schedules
  • Monitor and support resource loading of schedules
  • Support Interactive Project Planning Meetings (IPPM)
  • Create and tailor schedule reporting formats for project needs
  • Analyze scheduling reports and supporting documentation for accuracy
  • Consult with project teams on schedule progress and updates
  • Apply critical path method (CPM) scheduling techniques, cost estimating, and forecasting
  • Perform "what-if schedule scenario analysis
  • Develop and maintain earned value management systems (EVMS)
  • Input and validate progress measurement data
  • Develop and maintain progress curves
  • Perform material takeoffs as needed
  • Conduct quality checks and inspections of project controls deliverables
  • Perform field audits to validate reporting accuracy and process compliance
  • Support project forensic schedule analysis as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Comply with all company policies and standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
    • Equivalent relevant experience may be substituted for degree requirement
  • Minimum of 3+ years of direct project controls experience required
  • Experience with Oracle Primavera P6 preferred
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • OSHA 10-hour certification or ability to obtain
