Staff Registered Engineer - Structural - Hydraulic StructuresLocation: Rancho Cordova, CA, USCompany: Black & Veatch Family of CompaniesFunctions as a technical specialist or lead role with minimal supervision. Applies advanced engineering techniques and analyses, develops concepts for complex engineering problems, and provides technical guidance to teams. May supervise engineering staff on projects of low to medium complexity, develop, validate, and present specialist technical output, and manage assigned budget, schedule, and quality requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop knowledge and provide guidance on design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes, and B&V policies.Apply knowledge and comply with B&V quality program, ensuring compliance and guiding others.Prepare complex engineering deliverables, conduct research, develop equipment and material recommendations, perform engineering calculations, and review lower‑level engineering work.Coordinate with internal and external team members on moderately complex projects and serve as lead production team or project coordinator.Identify client interests and drivers, communicate them to the team, develop approaches to accommodate these concerns, and support business development activities.Act as a recognized technical specialist, consult and guide project teams in a particular practice area, and mentor lower‑level professionals.Assist with performance management, mentorship, and career planning for lower‑level staff.Support resource management strategy and maintain engineering resources for small single‑discipline groups when required.Handle administrative responsibilities such as ensuring effective implementation of policies, adhering to corporate programs, approving timesheets, and expense reports.Eligible for all administrative responsibilities as assigned.Minimum QualificationsRequires a bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized accredited program in the applicant's home country or the country of practice. Minimum of five (5) years related work experience.
