Staff Right of Way Specialist - Title Agent

Position Summary
Our client is seeking a Staff Right of Way Specialist - Title Agent to support land acquisition and right of way activities for utility and infrastructure projects. This position plays a key role in facilitating land acquisitions, title research, property negotiations, permitting, and project coordination while ensuring projects remain on schedule and in compliance with applicable regulations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of real estate title work, right of way acquisition processes, and land records, along with excellent organizational and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze, prepare, review, and interpret land and Right of Way documents including deeds, easements, leases, permits, licenses, and other legal agreements.
- Research, collect, and organize real property documentation required for project execution.
- Review title reports, appraisal reports, surveys, and related property documentation.
- Enter and maintain Right of Way data within stakeholder management databases.
- Perform quality assurance reviews of database entries completed by Right of Way field personnel.
- Present technical information and project updates to project teams and stakeholders.
- Prepare and submit permit applications in support of project activities.
- Develop project status reports, acquisition reports, technical documentation, and management updates.
- Coordinate document control, meeting agendas, and other project administrative activities.
- Assist with subcontractor management, including contract reviews, invoices, and change order documentation.
- Support public involvement meetings and stakeholder communications.
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and tracking project milestones.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, and all applicable safety standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field preferred.
- Four (4) or more years of Right of Way acquisition, title, relocation, eminent domain, real estate, or project management experience.
- Applicable professional experience may be substituted for degree requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret title reports, appraisal reports, legal descriptions, and land surveys.
- Working knowledge of general real estate law and title principles.
- Understanding of Right of Way acquisition processes and documentation.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within project teams.
- Experience managing and maintaining database systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to meet company vehicle driving requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- SR/WA designation.
- International Right of Way Association (IRWA) certification.
- Real Estate Broker license.
- Real Estate Sales License.
- Experience supporting utility, energy, transportation, or infrastructure projects.
