Environmental Scientist

Overview

This role is ideal for an Environmental Scientist with 2-5 years of experience supporting a variety of consulting projects including site assessments, remediation, due diligence, and redevelopment. The position offers a mix of fieldwork and office responsibilities with strong opportunities for technical growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct Phase I & II Environmental Site Assessments (ASTM standards)
  • Perform field sampling (soil, groundwater, vapor) and site investigations
  • Prepare technical reports, data analysis, and recommendations
  • Support remediation, compliance, and Brownfield/redevelopment projects
  • Assist with permitting, regulatory coordination, and environmental assessments
  • Coordinate with project teams, labs, contractors, and agencies
  • Maintain accurate field documentation and manage multiple project tasks

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, or related
  • 2-5 years of environmental consulting experience
  • Experience with Phase I & II ESAs and field sampling
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance processes
  • Strong technical writing, data analysis, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Valid driver's license with ability to travel

Preferred

  • Experience with remediation, groundwater/hydrogeology, and Brownfield projects
  • Exposure to vapor intrusion, wetlands, and environmental compliance/permitting

Work Environment

  • Mix of office and field work

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Troy, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $35.00/hr.
