We're not just another insurance company—we're a team that believes in treating people with respect, supporting each other, and building careers that matter.Position SummaryThe Senior Accountant is responsible for preparing, analyzing, and supporting statutory financial reporting in accordance with NAIC guidelines and applicable state insurance regulations. This role will play a key part in the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness of financial information for insurance entities.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and review statutory-basis financial statements in compliance with NAIC Annual and Quarterly Statement instructionsAssist in the preparation and filing of Annual Statements, Quarterly Statements, and supplemental filingsMaintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, with a focus on statutory accounting (SSAP) requirementsPerform detailed account reconciliations and variance analysesSupport Schedule P, Schedule F, and other key statutory schedulesAssist with preparation of footnotes and statutory disclosuresCollaborate with actuarial, underwriting, and claims departments to ensure accurate financial reportingSupport external audits and regulatory examinations by providing requested documentation and analysisMonitor and implement changes in statutory accounting guidance and regulatory requirementsAssist in internal control documentation and process improvementsParticipate in special projects, including system implementations and process automationQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or CPA-track preferred)2-5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2+ years in insurance statutory reportingStrong knowledge of Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP) and NAIC reporting requirementsExperience with insurance annual statement software (e.g., GAIN, OneSumX, AQS, or similar) preferredProficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced skills strongly preferred)Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skillsAbility to manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environmentExcellent communication skills and attention to detailPreferred ExperienceExperience with property & casualty insurance or reciprocal exchangesFamiliarity with Schedule P, loss reserving concepts, and reinsurance accountingExperience working with auditors and state regulatorsKnowledge of GAAP vs. statutory accounting differencesKey CompetenciesAttention to detail and accuracyOwnership and accountabilityStrong analytical mindsetAbility to work independently and collaborativelyContinuous improvement orientationBenefits401(k) with dollar for dollar employer match up to 4%Health insuranceDental insuranceVision insuranceCompany paid life insurance, short term disability & long term disabilityPaid time offPaid holidays (7.5 days)#J-18808-Ljbffr
