POSITION DESCRIPTION: 

We are looking for a Staff Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our Grid & Energy Services team to ensure our systems are highly available, scalable, and reliable in production environments. This role will focus on system performance, observability, and operational excellence across cloud-based and distributed systems supporting energy infrastructure.

LOCATION & WORK ARRANGEMENT

This role is remote, however, the candidate(s) will be expected to relocate at their own expense to our onsite Houston location by Q1 in 2027*

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, implement, and maintain reliable, scalable infrastructure and services for production systems.
  • Monitor system health, performance, and availability using observability and alerting tools.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive incident resolution.
  • Build and improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and system automation.
  • Collaborate with software, QA, and platform teams to improve system reliability and performance.
  • Implement and support SRE best practices, including SLIs, SLOs, and incident response processes.
  • Contribute to automation and AI-driven operational workflows where applicable.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, SRE, DevOps, or a related technical field.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and distributed systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills in production environments.
  • Experience with monitoring, alerting, and observability tools.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and deployment workflows.
  • Travel may be required up to 10% depending on business needs.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in energy, utilities, or renewable systems (solar preferred). 
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes). 
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code and automation frameworks. 
  • Exposure to AI/ML-driven monitoring or operational tooling.
