Provide technical direction to junior engineers on the team. Requirements: Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field (willing to accept foreign educational equivalent) and seven (7) years of experience in the job offered or in a Staff Software Engineer II-related occupation designing and developing scalable, multi-tiered services developed in Java and database environments. Alternatively, employer will accept a Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering or related field (willing to accept foreign educational equivalent) and 5 years of experience in the job offered or in a Staff Software Engineer II-related occupation designing and developing scalable, multi-tiered services developed in Java and database environments. Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) in object-oriented programming such as JAVA or C#. DE in distributed systems and/or message queues, including Apache Kafka. DE as a technical lead handling large scale distributed and multi-tiered systems. DE developing and mentoring junior and senior individual contributors and performing code reviews. DE with cloud computing using AWS, Azure, or GCP. DE adopting best practices for software unit tests, integration tests and observability.
