• 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.

• 5 years of experience with programming in SQL, PL/SQL or T-SQL.

• 4 years of experience in database administration and relational database development on GCP (technology such Cloud SQL, SQL Server, AlloyDB, Spanner, Oracle, etc.).

• 3 years of experience designing and implementing analytical reports and dashboards.

• 2 years of experience building automation scripts using Python or Terraform.

Preferred qualifications:

• Masters degree in Computer Science or Engineering.

Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) is what you get when you treat operations as if it's a software problem. Our mission is to progress, protect, and provide for the software and systems behind all of Google's public services - Search, Ads, Gmail, Android, YouTube, and AppEngine, to name just a few - with an ever-watchful eye on their availability, latency, performance, and capacity.

This is an unusual job, unlike others in the industry. Like traditional operations groups, we keep important, revenue-critical systems up and running despite hurricanes, bandwidth outages, and configuration problems. Unlike traditional operations groups, we also have full access to and authority to fix, extend, and scale the code to keep it working and harden it against all the vagaries of the Internet. We hire people from both systems and software backgrounds. Strong candidates will have experience with both.

We own those products in production. We drive reliability and performance across massive scale by mastering the full depth of the stack. Googles Raxium display group has established a revolutionary semiconductor materials display technology that enables new functionality in display products, bringing to users a closer and more natural linkage between the digital and physical realms in applications such as augmented reality (AR) and light-field display. With start-up roots and a state-of-the-art compound semiconductor fab in Silicon Valley, Raxium is seeking to build upon its engineering team with an aim to disrupt next-generation display markets.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $207000 - $300000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, build, test, and maintain robust database applications tailored for semiconductor manufacturing.
• Manage database administration across on-premises systems (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, Vertica, PostgreSQL) and GCP environments (AlloyDB, Cloud Spanner).
• Adhere to software engineering standards and best practices for requirement documentation, system design, implementation, and testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional leadership, engineers, program managers, and data scientists to identify and address business and technical requirements.
• Manage and deliver on multiple concurrent projects with minimal direction.
