Hourly Pay Range:

$18.84 - $27.32 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate''s expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

  • Position: Staff Support Tech - Central Resource Team

  • Location: Elmhurst Hospital

  • Part-Time: 24 hour work week

  • Hours: Days - 6:30am-7:00pm

What you will do: This role may provide basic care for patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse on our inpatient units and facilitate communication between the patient, their family, and the patient's care team via video conference applications or phone.

  • Responds to the immediate needs of the patient by answering patient call lights promptly and courteously.

  • As directed, by RN, makes hourly or more frequent rounds on patients for safety, comfort, and meeting patients' needs/requests

  • Positions, lifts, transfers, and ambulates patients as directed by the RN; use of Safe Patient Handling equipment

  • Assist with setting up meals for patients and ordering meals

  • Keeps patient rooms tidy, refreshes patient's linen as need, removes unnecessary equipment and linen

  • Assists patient with simple hygiene/comfort measures such as washing hands/face and oral care

  • As directed by the RN, transports patient to other departments or during discharge

  • When directed by the RN, remains with the patient continuously for patient safety.

  • Handles infectious waste and linen according to established hospital procedure

  • Adheres to proper infection control standards and hand washing techniques to avoid cross contamination

  • Cleans and disinfects unit specific equipment

  • Answers phones and/or cover/assist Unit Concierge as needed during the shift

  • Acts as a "Runner" to other departments, when needed to obtain necessary items for patient care

What you will need:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred or equivalent work experience

  • Certifications:

Certification: Current CPR Certification issued by the American Heart Association & CPI
