Staff Sustaining Engineer
Location: Greater Raleigh Area

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leading technical investigations of field failures, reliability issues, and manufacturing problems for complex pharmacy-automation equipment.
  • Driving root-cause analysis, corrective design actions, and verification of reliability improvements for mechanical and electromechanical systems.
  • Developing and reviewing designs, drawings, specifications, tolerance analyses, and test plans; using 3D CAD and engineering analysis as appropriate.
  • Leading product-change activities from concept through design review, risk assessment, verification, release, and manufacturing transfer.
  • Collaborating with Quality, Service, Operations, Electrical/Software Engineering, and suppliers to resolve technical issues and improve product performance.
  • Providing staff-level technical leadership, mentoring engineers, and communicating clear risk, tradeoff, and execution recommendations to stakeholders.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of engineering experience with complex mechanical or electromechanical products.
  • Proven ownership of sustaining, reliability, and product-improvement initiatives in a manufacturing setting.
  • Hands-on expertise with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred), mechanical components, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with FMEA/risk assessments, technical documentation, and managing cross-functional projects.
  • Background in pharmacy automation, pharmaceutical equipment, robotics, conveyance systems, sensors, or automated instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of FEA, tolerance analysis, Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA), and manufacturing transfer processes.
  • Experience with medical devices or regulated products, familiar with ISO 13485 and FDA quality systems.
