    The Role

The Global Design and R&D IT team supports the design and research & development of every GM production and concept vehicle, from early innovation through production design. We are seeking a highly motivated Systems Analyst to partner with business stakeholders, product teams, and technology partners to deliver innovative digital solutions that enable the future of vehicle design, engineering, and research. In this strategic role, you will serve as a liaison between business and technology teams, translating complex needs into scalable solutions while driving continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence across a diverse portfolio of applications, platforms, and emerging technologies supporting Global Design, visualization, digital development, engineering, and R&D initiatives.

    What You'll Do

    • Partner with business stakeholders to understand strategic objectives, operational challenges, and technology needs.

    • Lead discovery sessions, requirements gathering, process analysis, and solution definition activities.

    • Translate business requirements into functional specifications, user stories, workflows, and technology roadmaps.

    • Collaborate with software engineering, product management, architecture, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and vendor teams to deliver business value.

    • Evaluate and recommend innovative technologies and digital solutions that improve business processes and customer experiences.

    • Support the full solution lifecycle, including planning, design, testing, implementation, change management, and continuous improvement.

    • Identify process improvement opportunities and drive simplification, standardization, automation, and modernization initiatives.

    • Facilitate prioritization discussions and balance competing business demands across multiple projects and product teams.

    • Analyze business workflows, systems integrations, and data flows to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

    • Monitor application performance, adoption, service health, and user satisfaction metrics.

    • Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and cross-functional technology teams.

    • Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture, security, compliance, and governance standards.

    • Provide leadership and mentorship to less experienced analysts and project team members.

    • Support Agile product delivery practices including backlog management, sprint planning, and release activities.

    • Drive successful adoption of new capabilities through effective communication, training, and stakeholder engagement.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or equivalent experience.

    • 10+ years of experience in business systems analysis, product delivery, digital transformation, software development, or related technology disciplines.

    • Experience leading medium to large-scale technology initiatives with cross-functional stakeholders.

    • Experience gathering, documenting, and translating business requirements into technical solutions.

    • Strong business process analysis and requirements management capabilities.

    • Experience with Agile, Scrum, Kanban, or other modern delivery methodologies.

    • Ability to analyze complex systems, integrations, data flows, and business processes.

    • Experience working with cloud technologies, SaaS platforms, APIs, or enterprise applications.

    • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices.

    • Experience facilitating workshops, stakeholder discussions, and solution reviews.

    • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.

    • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities.

    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment.

    • Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority.

    • Effective change agent capable of leading organizational adoption.

    • Ability to work effectively with global teams across multiple time zones.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

    • Experience supporting automotive design, engineering, research, simulation, visualization, manufacturing, or product development organizations.

    • Experience serving as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or Business Relationship Manager.

    • Knowledge of AI/ML-enabled business processes and digital transformation practices.

    • Experience working with product lifecycle management (PLM), digital engineering, visualization, CAD/CAM, simulation, or design technology platforms.

    • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and modern application architectures.

    • Experience managing strategic technology vendors and supplier relationships.

    • Experience with portfolio management, roadmap development, and technology investment planning.

    • Lean, Agile, SAFe, Six Sigma, or project management certifications.
