Join an innovative engineering organization developing complex robotic platforms for highly regulated, safety-critical applications. This senior-level individual contributor will lead the design, development, and optimization of advanced motion-control and fault-detection algorithms that enable sophisticated robotic systems. Working closely with cross-functional engineering teams, this person will help drive solutions from concept and prototype through testing, validation, and product release while influencing system architecture, performance, and safety.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on robotics and controls expert who thrives in technically challenging environments and can independently solve complex problems involving electromechanical systems, real-time software, and advanced control theory. This role offers the opportunity to work on next-generation robotic technology with significant technical ownership and visibility.
Must-Have Qualifications
BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or related technical field
Extensive experience developing robotic, control systems, or servo control solutions in a regulated or safety-critical environment
Deep expertise implementing, tuning, and troubleshooting modern servo control systems
Strong background in robot modeling and system identification
Advanced real-time control algorithm development using C/C++
Experience with Python and/or MATLAB/Simulink for simulation, analysis, and testing
Proven ability to develop robust, high-performance algorithms in multithreaded or multiprocessor environments
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across hardware, software, and systems engineering teams
Industry experience within medical device, aerospace, automotive, robotics, or another highly regulated engineering environment
Preferred
Advanced robotic control techniques such as impedance control or flexible manipulator control
Embedded Linux or QNX experience
Full product lifecycle experience including verification, validation, and manufacturing transfer
Experience with Git, SVN, CMake, or GNU Make systems
