    Description

    Staff Transmission Line Engineer

    The Transmission & Distribution team is seeking a Staff Transmission Line Engineer to support our expanding operations in the Akron, Columbus, and St. Louis offices. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to collaboration and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will take ownership of their work and contribute to the success of both the team and our clients.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Design high- and extra-high-voltage (69500 kV) transmission lines using PLS-CADD.

    • Develop detailed construction packages, including plan and profile drawings, structure loading trees, and foundation assembly drawings.

    • Prepare project specifications and design criteria documents.

    • Provide technical support and oversight during field construction activities.

    • Foster and maintain strong client relationships while offering technical mentorship to junior engineers.

    • Contribute to the advancement of design standards and best practices within the team.

    • Support other engineering tasks as required.

    • Occasional travel to project or client sites may be necessary.

    • Experience with HVDC systems is considered a plus.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, or a Bachelors in Engineering Technology with successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.

    • A Masters degree in Civil Engineering may substitute for one year of professional experience.

    • Minimum 3 years of transmission line design experience.

    • Proficient in written and verbal communication, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

    • Experience with project scheduling and budgeting.

    • Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.

    • Consulting or utility experience preferred.
