Description

Are you motivated by the opportunity to do meaningful work? Are you a detail-oriented, strategic thinker who can stay focused, professional, and friendly while performing crisis management? Windward Life Care is seeking a temporary Staffing Coordinator (30 hours per week, three-month assignment) to join our team!

We are honored to be a San Diego Union-Tribune Top Workplaces award winner for seven years running, 2019-2025.

Proudly serving San Diego County for 22 years, Windward Life Care is a group of trusted Aging Life Care ® and in-home care professionals with a premier reputation in our field. We offer geriatric care management services and non-medical home care services to clients who are billed on a private-pay basis. Our mission is to improve the lives of older and disabled adults in San Diego County by fostering a lifelong sense of purpose and maximizing independence.

Responsibilities: The Staffing Coordinator works with the other members of the Staffing team to schedule our 100+ Home Care Aides (HCAs) on an ongoing basis. This includes being responsible for the following in a time-sensitive environment:

  • Matching the skills and availability of our HCAs with client needs
  • Using staffing software to make sure all shifts are filled
  • Managing call-offs
  • Answering daily communications from and build positive relationships with HCAs and Care Managers
  • Verifying hours worked for payroll
  • While On Call: being the first point of contact for HCA concerns, triaging calls to the On Call Care Manager for clinical concerns as needed

In the uncommon event normal Home Care Aide coverage cannot immediately and appropriately be scheduled, the Staffing Coordinator may also travel to client homes to perform direct client care services/”gap coverage” until a regular HCA can be scheduled.

Regular Work Schedule & Location: Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 1:30pm. On-call, after-hours staffing support is also needed on a rotating basis - typically Monday through Thursday after hours, every third week. This position will be on-site working in our San Diego (Bankers Hill) corporate office. On-call, after-hours support will take place remotely. Additional hours may be available as dictated by business needs. This position is temporary, scheduled to start upon hire and end October 16, 2026.

Pay: $22.50 - $26.50 per hour plus on call stipend
