Nursing Department Master Schedule Coordinator

SUMMARY: Generates, manages and updates master schedules for the Nursing Department, while making adjustments as needed, according to budget constraints, census fluctuations, call outs, and pre-planned leaves of absence. Provide administrative support to Nursing Leaders for Staff Development and other departmental needs. Work closely with Nursing Leadership in coordinating an effective, efficient scheduling pattern. Establishes and maintains a professional relationship with the administrative and clinical staff. Schedule is Saturday and Sunday 8am - 4:30pm.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Utilizes computer software to prepare, change and update the master schedule via Shifthound scheduling system.
  • Updates Shifthound daily to reflect Call Outs, PTO, etc. to assist Nursing Administration with reports regarding PRN Guidelines, attendance, etc.
  • Monitors daily staffing report according to staffing grid.
  • Replaces call outs in a prompt manner.

Qualifications Job Requirements: HS Diploma but prefer a Bachelor's degree in related field. Experience and knowledge of organizing and managing the master schedule plan for clinical staffing; effective time management and organizational skills, preferably in a hospital setting.
