Stainer Helper

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Stainer Helper to join the door shop team at a facility in Salt Lake City. This position supports the finishing department by assisting with staining, prepping, and handling wood doors to ensure high-quality finished products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with preparation of doors for staining and finishing
• Clean, sand, and prep wood surfaces prior to stain application
• Apply stain, sealers, or finishes under supervision as needed
• Move, rack, and organize doors throughout the finishing process
• Inspect doors for defects and report quality issues
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow all safety procedures and shop guidelines
• Assist lead finishers and other shop staff as needed

Qualifications:

• Previous woodworking, staining, or finishing experience preferred (not required)
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move large door materials safely
• Comfortable standing for long periods and performing repetitive tasks
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
