About the Role

Step into our Romeoville operation as a stand-up reach truck expert who keeps product flowing safely and precisely. In the Logistics department, youll report to the Logistics Supervisor and serve as a key player moving, locating, stacking, and counting inventory from receiving through outbound loading. Youre accountable for safe, efficient powered industrial truck operation and may jump in as an order filler or checker as needed.

What a Day Looks Like

Start by unloading inbound trailers and positioning merchandise in the correct storage locations. Youll then pivot to order picking, pulling exact quantities and item types that meet customer service standards. When outbound time comes, youll stage, load, and secure freight in rail cars or trailers. Throughout the shift, youll use RF equipment and operate forklifts (including clamp and push-pull attachments) following prescribed methods and safety procedures.

Key Impact Areas

  • Receiving/Put-Away: Safely unload inbound shipments; stack and store merchandise in designated areas.
  • Order Picking: Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring correct item type and count; work at a pace that meets service commitments.
  • Loading: Transfer product from storage/staging into rail cars or trailers efficiently and safely.
  • Equipment: Operate stand-up forklifts, clamps, push-pull, and other powered equipment; utilize RF devices; follow all safety and work-method standards.
  • Inventory: Maintain accurate records and reports to support tight inventory control and security; assist with physical inventories, stock rotation, and cycle counts.
  • Maintenance: Assist with basic building, grounds, and equipment upkeep.
  • Food Safety: Uphold the SQF Food Safety Code for Manufacturing; report any risks, out-of-spec product/equipment/packaging/raw materials, or food safety/quality concerns to supervision or QA immediately.
