Position Overview

Lindy Farms is a family-owned, premier Standardbred and Thoroughbred breeding and training facility dedicated to producing elite racehorses from conception to competition. We are seeking a Groom/ Barn Staff for our Standardbred training facility. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative, high-performance environment that values excellence, innovation, and horse welfare. This position requires frequent travel to racetracks, training centers, and barn locations to provide operational oversight and support racing and training activities.

Your Role:

  • Daily grooming and care of Standardbred racehorses
  • Cleaning stalls and maintaining a tidy barn
  • Tacking and untacking training miles
  • Bathing, wrapping, and basic first aid care
  • Assisting the trainer with vet and farrier visits
  • Monitoring horse health and reporting concerns
  • Maintain equipment and a stable organization
  • Monitoring soundness, appetite, hydration, and overall condition of the horses
  • Maintains reasonable, regular, and punctual attendance consistent with Company policies, the Americans with disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Adapts to changing duties, as required, based on business needs.

Your Skills:

  • Strong horsemanship skills and confidence handling horses of all ages and temperaments, Standardbred or race barn experience preferred
  • Comfortable handling fit racehorses
  • Multi-tasking abilities
  • Good oral communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced work environment.
  • High level of responsibility, attention to detail, and ability to follow protocols.
  • Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays in a team-oriented environment.
