Little Miami Transportation department is looking for a 6 hour per day standby bus driver. A standby driver position is a contracted route that does qualify for benefits. Standbys are guaranteed 6 hours per day.

The steps below will assist you in the process. These steps must be completed in order.

  1. Schedule a test with the Ohio BMV for a temporary CDL with School Bus and Passenger Endorsement. This test includes sections on General Knowledge, Air Brakes, Passenger, and School Bus. A study manual is available at the Ohio BMV.

  2. Contact Mrs. Kelly Oeder at keoederlmsdoh.org to schedule an interview and background check. A clear driving record is required. Additionally, a physical and drug test is required.

a. A physical from the Arrow Springs Occupational Medicine will follow. b. A pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test is required through the Arrow Springs Occupational Medicine.

  1. Train with one of our On-Board Instructors. The minimum time is 12 hours, and the average training is 25-30 hours.

  2. Attend 15 classroom hours with Brandon Anness with the Warren County Educational Service Center.

  3. Take the CDL State Test. An On-Board Instructor will travel with you when you test.

  4. The final step is approval by the School Board for employment.
